Normally this is the time of year where I would take a look back at the posts from the last 12 months and share with you the top 10. However, there is the slight problem that you can count the number of posts for 2016 and 2017 on one hand and two of those aren’t even recipes.
So what’s a girl to do? Well, I have decided on the last day of 2017 to share the top 10 recipes on the blog so far. You may be familiar with them, or you may discover one you haven’t seen before particularly if you are new to the blog. Let’s begin the countdown…
10. Chocolate Coconut Slice
Published: 7 April 2013
One from my childhood, this was the go-to slice recipe for my family.
9. Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie
Published: 12 August 2012
Yep, another from my youth. I adore this cookie recipe and will eat the dough by the spoonful (don’t tell anyone).
8. Cherry Ripe Macarons
Published: 13 October 2013
Needless to say, I just had to sample Cherry Ripes before making these macarons as part of the 30th Birthday Macaron Tower. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.
7. Zucchini Slice
Published: 19 August 2012
Great as a main or side dish, the zucchini slice can be served cold or hot.
6. Spiral Vegetable Tart
Published: 6 April 2014
Another great vegetarian option for lunch or dinner, this beautiful tart can be made of any number of vegetables so pick your favourites.
5. Swiss Meringue Buttercream
Published: 19 May 2013
You know I love this stuff and use it for pretty much all of my cakes. SMB is perfectly smooth, light and not overly sweet which means you can eat lots and lots of it! This post also has some handy tips for when things go awry.
4. Oreo Cookies and Cream Cupcakes
Published: 7 July 2013
These cupcakes were the base for the 19th birthday pull-apart cake I made but you could assemble them in any arrangement. Or just eat them, eating them is pretty good too.
3. Rose Macarons
Published: 20 January 2013
Sprinkled with delicate rose petals and full of rosewater buttercream, these floral macarons are perfect for a high tea.
2. Purple Corset Cake
Published: 10 March 2013
Made for J’s 40th birthday, this chocolate layered cake with crème de menthe SMB was a hit. I also made a green one for another milestone birthday, L’s 30th.
1. Salted Caramel Macarons
Published: 22 September 2013
Another flavour that made up the birthday macaron tower, there is a very good reason this is the most popular recipe on the blog so far. The perfect balance of salty and sweet, you cannot stop at one.
Did your favourite make the list above? If not, let me know which one it is in the comments below as I would love to hear.
